In the First place it is God’s command to man in the Holy Bible is to look after orphans and widows.

- For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in’
- I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
- The King will reply,’ I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me’ [Matthew 25: 35 - 40]
- Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. [James 1:27]
- Learn to do right! Seek Justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow. [Isaiah 1:17]
- Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed [Psalms 82:3]
- They slay the widow and the alien; they murder the fatherless. [Psalms 94:6]

As you may know India has a population of 1.1 billion (1050 million people). Nearly half of the population are children below 12 -14 Years. The majority of India’s children live in rural villages where life is very difficult. Nearly 12 percent of the children born in India die very early due to various sicknesses and poverty.
As you know, India has the world’s largest orphan population. The caste system and poverty leave countless children as orphans. When we see orphans and widows being neglected in our society, our hearts are broken into pieces. This is due to the facts of law of karma (action) or caste system, religious beliefs or lack of financial support, without hope and future in the society. The House of Peace’s aim and vision is to give life to the children with the love of God by loving, educating and caring for orphans and widows, and to eradicate of female infanticide in our Indian society.
Jesus told us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Therefore serving others in the name of Jesus is real service to the Lord God Almighty.
