They have no education, no electricity, no water facilities, no school facilities, no proper roads and no transportation in hilly tribal areas.
In this village there are 500 families and above. A single family comprises about 5 – 10 children. These tribal people live below poverty line They live in huts made up of mud walls and roofs made up of dried leaves. The water gushes inside the huts through the holes in the wall during the rainy season. The mud wall of the hut starts to erode due to stagnation of water.
There are no basic medical facilities in these villages. If a person is sick and needs to be hospitalized, by the time he travels to the town he would have been dead because traveling takes more than 2 hours to reach the city. Hence, if poisonous insects, snakes or animals bite, they have to travel long distances to get treatment. They are not able to take treatment even for minor diseases and they suffer a lot and attain a worst situation. So the tribal people are longing for a proper medical facility in their village.
The tribal people of Tarangapadi and Chelligata village rear sheeps and cows as their local jobs. The women make plates and baskets out of teak leaves and sell them in the market. If they make 100 plates or 100 basket , they will earn only Rupess 8 per day. With this mere income they cannot meet their basic necessities like food and clothing.
The time taken for a woman to make one plate or basket is 10 – 15 minutes. If she makes 100 plates or 100 basket , she earns Rs.8/- (one USA dollar is 40.50 rupees). What a poor widow can do with Rs.8 per day ? How is she going to educate and feed all the children?
Due to the lack of bus facility people travel congested sitting inside, sitting on the top and hanging in the foot board. About 300 people travel in one bus. Travelling is also very dangerous as the roads are damaged and curved. So people will have to suffer a lot to travel to near by towns.
